Mary Ann's Closet gives foster and relative caregivers in Broward County the clothes, diapers, baby gear and toys they need, completely free.
Not everyone can be a foster parent, but everyone can help a foster family.
Children often enter foster care carrying little more than a small bag of belongings. Too often, the few clothes they have are worn, stained, too small, or simply not enough.
Mary Ann’s Closet was created to change that. We give foster parents and relative caregivers clothing, shoes, diapers, toys, books, furniture and everyday essentials, completely free of charge. We want every child who walks through our doors to leave with dignity, confidence, hope, and the knowledge that their community cares about them.

A placement call comes in
A child is on the way, sometimes the same day. The family calls or texts us.

Foster and relative caregivers shop our Pompano Beach closet on Fridays or by appointment. Everything is free.

Clothes, shoes, diapers, baby gear, toys and school supplies, sized for the child in their care.

Mary Ann was an AIDS educator, a consumer fraud worker, a sociology teacher, a photographer and a dedicated knitter. She made children’s hats and handed them out to families at local soup kitchens, never looking for credit.
Her daughter started this closet in the same spirit: quiet, practical help, given to families at the moment they need it most.
